The lentils are simple to prepare they can be a side dish or a replacement to Meat. This dish can be prepared in 10 minutes and is low cost. Any non-cook could put this recipe together. In our house we eat this at least twice a week it is very satisfying and simple.
Ingredients:
- 1-2 cans of low salt or regular lentils
- 1/2 onion cut up and sauted with 2 tbsp of olive oil
When the onions are sauted slightly 1. Pour in the can of (Drained) Lentils 2. let simmer for 10 to 20 min. or until browned at this point there should be almost no noticeable liquid in the pan/pot remember the liquid content will determine how dry the lentils are.
This is a great addition to your meal as a replacement to meat or in addition to the meat of choice. If you need extra fibre in your diet this is an easy and delicious way to get it. Salt and pepper to taste. Note: The lentils were packed in salt so go light on any additional salting.
Please rate our lentils and post any upgrades to the recipe…
